Tiger Woods has completed treatment for his issues with medications, the golfer said Monday
The annoucement came two weeks after he said Woods was getting treatment to manage the drugs prescribed for his back pain and to help him sleep.
“I recently completed an out of state private intensive program,” he posted on Twitter. “I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends. I am so very thankful for all of the support I’ve received.”
Woods, 41, was arrested on May 29 after police found him asleep at the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz at 2 a.m. and charged with DUI in Jupiter, Fla. He has an August court appearance scheduled. The car was parked and still running and had two flat tires and other noticeable damage.
Woods was unable to perform routine DUI tests and two breathalyzer tests revealed no presence of alcohol. Woods told officers he had a reaction to several prescription drugs, including Vicodin and Xanax.
He underwent fusion back surgery in April to help ease his pain, his fourth back surgery since 2014.
Woods he has appeared in only three events since 2016. He has not played competitive golf since he withdrew from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic after Round 1 in February.
