Bryson Nimmer of Bluffton, S.C., won the Sea Pines Junior Heritage in a sudden-death playoff over Andrew Orischak, earning Junior Player of the Week honors.
Nimmer stuck an 8-iron to 6 feet on the first playoff hole, making birdie and taking the 36-hole event, played at Heron Point Golf Club and Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Nimmer holed out from a greenside bunker on his final hole to head to a playoff, finishing regulation at even par.
“That’s probably the best shot I’ve hit, under those circumstances,” said Nimmer. “When you have a sand shot you need to hole, (there’s less pressure) because you know the odds aren’t very good and you just pull the trigger.”
Nimmer, a class-of-2016 Clemson signee, is No. 78 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ranking.
