Nothing is ever a gimme in golf.
Billy Horschel was reminded of that lesson the hard way Sunday at the RSM Classic. The three-time PGA Tour winner thrust himself into a five-man playoff at Sea Island Resort’s Seaside Course in St. Simons Island, Ga., and appeared he would at least survive the first extra hole.
Facing what looked like a 2-foot par putt to advance in the playoff, all of us assumed Horschel would tap in and continue his victory quest. But then…
Golf … deceptively simple, endlessly complicated.
It’s tough to see this happen to anyone.#QuickHits https://t.co/nd6KsRrV6v

Wow. That barely hit the hole. Still a high finish for Horschel this week, but that’s got to hurt.
Horschel had a good attitude (and explanation) about the miss afterward, though.
They say you learn more from losses than wins. I believe it’s true. For me, I didn’t take my time over that short putt. Simple as that.

There’s plenty more here, too.
Did a good job all day of not rushing anything all day. Which is a fault of mine. I will learn from this and come out even better.

Oh, and he had his wisdom teeth removed Monday. So his feelings of pain are probably in a whole different realm now.
Wisdom teeth gone and I look like a champ! 😂😂…. everything went great and can't thank Dr Woods in PV enough for doing a helluva job. pic.twitter.com/wkqQiES8Gr
