Henrik Stenson

OWGR: 17

Best British Open finish: 1 (2016)

Last three British Opens: T-40, 1, T-11

This season: A T-5 at the Masters and T-6 at the U.S. Open combined with only one missed cut at the Valspar have Stenson playing as steadily as ever.

Why he could win: Ballstriking has never been better, a far cry from last year when the defending champion struggled a bit. Once again back to being brilliant off the tee and the best statistically approaching greens, Stenson was the darling of U.S. Open pre-tournament prognosticators due to amazing
accuracy and power.

Holding him back: Putting and overall short game. Woeful around the greens, Stenson is losing ground to his peers on days when his irons are a little off. But he typically scrambles beautifully on links courses.
