6. O Canada

Fans packed in 30 deep to watch Brooke Henderson become the first Canadian to win the CP Women’s Open since Jocelyne Bourassa in 1973.

Four consecutive birdies on the closing nine shut the door on Angel Yin, allowing one of the country’s most popular sports stars to soak up the moment on 18. Henderson lost both of her grandfathers in 2018.

She withdrew from the U.S. Women’s Open to be with her maternal grandfather before he died after a brief battle with cancer. Her paternal grandfather died the Sunday of the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

The Canadian Women’s Open is no longer a major championship on the LPGA, but for Henderson it sure felt like one.
