Olazábal didn’t play much on the PGA Tour but was a stalwart of the European Tour in the ’90s, winning 13 of his 33 European titles in the decade. The Spaniard won the Masters in 1994, beating Tom Lehman by two shots. He struck again in 1999 at Augusta National, holding off Davis Love III by two shots and Greg Norman by three.

Perhaps most importantly, he frequently teamed with Seve Ballesteros as Europe started beating the U.S. in the Ryder Cup, and Olazábal compiled a 20-12-5 record in the event. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2009.
