6. Mark O’Meara

PGA Tour victories in 1990s: 12 (of 16 total)

Major titles in 1990s: two (of two total)

O’Meara was a steady contender and frequent winner on the PGA Tour – he won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am five times – but he took it to a new level in 1998.

A frequent playing partner of Tiger Woods away from the Tour in Orlando, O’Meara proved to be the best in his Isleworth neighborhood that year by winning the Masters and the British Open at Royal Birkdale. At Augusta National that year, he canned a 20-foot birdie putt on the final hole to beat David Duval and Fred Couples by a shot for his first major title. At the British Open he beat Brian Watts by two shots in a four-hole playoff for his second major of the year.

O’Meara was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015.
