PGA Tour victories in 1990s: 12 (of 20 total)
Major titles in 1990s: one (of two total)
The Shark spent 331 weeks total at No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking in the 1980s and ’90s, and he racked up the majority of his PGA Tour titles in the ’90s.
A frequent contender – and a somewhat-frequent victim of incredible shots by his opponents – the Australian earned his second major title at the 1993 British Open at Royal St. George’s. Norman fired a closing 64 to hold off Nick Faldo by two shots in that event.
One of the best drivers of a golf ball of all time, Norman’s last PGA Tour victory was the NEC World Series of Golf in 1997. Norman went on to become a successful entrepreneur, and he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2001.
