Woods’ 15th major title appeared it might be imminent at Carnoustie with a weekend charge that pushed him into the solo lead early on the back nine Sunday. A double bogey-bogey run at Nos. 11 and 12 ultimately ruined his chances (Francesco Molinari would be the winner). But Woods produced an electric and memorable Sunday for a time in an eventual T-6 showing.
