The Players Championship is going on as scheduled, with Thursday’s first round being the last time – for now – fans will be allowed in attendance.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan announced on Thursday its flagship event will continue but fans will not be allowed onto the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass beginning Friday out of concerns about the coronavirus.
The field for the tournament is predictably deep, which is fitting for a tournament staged at such an iconic venue. TPC Sawgrass features one of the most daunting shots in professional golf.
