In the absence of the coronavirus pandemic, a new U.S. Women’s Open champion would have been crowned June 7 at Champions Golf Club in Houston. That event has now been postponed to Dec. 10-13.
Without a new champion to celebrate, we decided to celebrate those from the past 20 years instead. Take a moment to relive the trophy celebrations, winning putts, triumphant fist pumps and champagne (or water-bottle) showers from recent history.
The Women’s Open will still celebrate its 75th anniversary when played this December. In the absence of local qualifiers (which the USGA decided to cancel in light of the pandemic) the field will be selected based on exemption categories.
