Masters Survey 2024: We asked Rickie, JT and Tony if you went as a patron, which holes would you watch?

Augusta National is a wonderland but where should patrons go to enjoy the course during the Masters? That was the latest Golfweek Masters Survey question. Some of the contestants such as Harris English and Lucas Glover attended the tournament as kids and can speak from experience. Others such as Gary Player can speak best from playing inside the ropes dating to 1957.

Hanging by Nos. 15-16 were popular picks as was Amen Corner. Justin Thomas is a fan of No. 2 while Gary Woodland said he’d be sure to be at the 18th green for the finale on Sunday. Good advice. Here are some of the best suggestions for maximizing your viewership experience at the Masters.

Billy Horschel

Left of 15 green so I could see shots coming into 15 and watch 16.

I would post up at Nos. 15-16.

Cameron Young

I’d stick around 6 and 16, where you can watch both shots and go watch 7 green, 8 tee.

Collin Morikawa

The sweet spot to me is 16. I think it’s really fun and you can see multiple holes.

Gary Player

I would walk them all.

Gary Woodland

You’d have to get to 12 to see some of the carnage that happens there. I think 16 is great because you can see a little of six, see them tee off on 17. Then on Sunday, I’d want to be on 18 by the green to see the winner finish up.

Harris English

I love 16, it’s my favorite par 3 out there. I went a few times as a kid. My most memorable was in 2004 when I was in high school with my buddies and we were left of 16 on the hill and Phil (Mickelson) made the uphill putt to tie for the lead and I remember getting chill bumps. That’s one of my favorite places on the course.

Jason Day

I would park myself by 15. You can also see 16 from there.

Justin Thomas

Two would be for sure my first one to watch guys around the green. You’ll see some great second shots, some creative, cool wedge and chip shots.

Keegan Bradley

I would go to 16, especially on Sunday with that funnel flag and a good chance for some hole-in-one magic.

Lucas Glover

I used to go every year on Saturday from age 6 to 16. My grandfather and I would drive down early, watch them hit balls, set up the chair behind the first tee and watch everybody tee off, drive home and watch the back nine on TV. I liked to get over to 4-5-6 because you get up close and see more; they are less populated than the famous back-nine holes. If it is your first time, I’d go to Amen Corner.

It’s hard to go wrong but 11 green and 12 tee is the spot.

Matt Fitzpatrick

Amen Corner.

Matt Kuchar

I would sit up high enough over 16 green that I could see 15 green and six green too.

There isn’t really a bad watch. No. 5 and 17 are sneaky watches. I think if you’re a golfer, you’ve got to go see the second shots at Nos. 10 and 11. The excitement at 12, 13 and 16 but I think everyone already knows that.

Rickie Fowler

I would sit somewhere near six because you can see there and 16 or between 9 and 18 because you could see both those holes.

Steve Stricker

My first year I missed the cut and we stayed around that weekend. We sat at the 15 grandstand, where we could see the green and 16 tee.

Tony Finau

I would sit on the hill on 6 so I can see 16 too and watch them tee off on 17.

Will Zalatoris

I would go to a practice round and watch guys rolling balls on Nos. 2 and 16 because you’re able to see the severity of the slopes and how absolutely incredible those greens are.

Zach Johnson

I tell people to situate themselves around Amen Corner because you can see 11-14 easily and it’s a straight shot to 15 and 17.
